Heart of the home

Our Esse stove is heart of the kitchen and was the catalyst for the colour scheme we chose for this room. We didn’t want an Edwardian kitchen, which were back then rather drab and utilitarian. But we didn’t want a high shine modern stainless steel kitchen either. We wanted something in between, either old fashioned cabinetry with modern appliances, or modern cabinets and old fashioned appliances. At the time this house was built Esse was the leading stove manufacturer in Europe. Even though it looks like it could date back to day the house was built, it’s actually quite a modern affair with an induction hob alongside the traditional hot plate.
